Included below is the reference bibliography from this article. The Jan./Feb. 2008 issue contains my analysis of an earlier and equally famous case, that of Saint Simon of Trent, 1475. Do you like real stories where unsolved cases are reopened? A 500-year-old “cold case” recently made international news. Ritual Murder is a particularly ugly and perverted crime. Essentially it involves extreme torture and bloodletting leading to death under religio-magical rites, thus is sometimes called Ceremonial Homicide. This is a universal and multicultural phenomenon, an ancient archetype of evil, occurring in all times and among all races and nations, including the Judaic peoples. This is a subject, formerly much debated, but rarely mentioned anymore. The last twentieth century book, written in 1943, was seized and burned after WWII. Nonetheless, the so-called “blood libel” surfaced again in 2001. But even more surprisingly, it made the news in 2007, centering on a Judaic author.

Dr. Ariel Toaff, the son of a Chief Rabbi of Rome, is a professor of medieval and Renaissance history at Israel’s Bar Ilan University, serving as a guest professor in Italy. Early in 2007, he released Pasque Di Sangue (Bloody Passovers, a work in Italian), but under criticism from ADL and other Judaic pressure groups, withdrew it “in order to reframe those sections of it misunderstood by readers and mischaracterized in the press”. In further capitulation, Toaff promised to donate any money earned to the ADL, which previously condemned the scholar. The famous 1475 case of St. Simon of Trent was a central feature in his treatise. An earlier book also reopened this ancient and contentious topic. The selection below comes from Blood Ritual: An Investigative Report Examining A Certain Series Of Cultic Murder Cases by Philip de Vier (National Vanguard Books, 2001). I have decided to reclaim my other persona. I am the author of that work. This is one of my pennames. As did Toaff’s Bloody Passovers, I deeply explored the 1475 case, affirming its validity.

In light of these two contentious books, and the centuries of conflict over this issue, plus that we live in an era of increased pedophilia and child kidnappings, this is not only a subject of history, but current events as well. Thousands of children and young adults disappear every year, and most are unaccounted for. Could some be sacrificial murder victims? This is perhaps an appropriate place to clarify a few things. Ritual murder is a truly multicultural phenomenon, past and present, all over the world. Various cults, cabals and covens exist, such as the deadly Palo Mayombe sect in the Americas and extremists of the Juju religion in Africa, just to name a couple. My hypothesis attributed many of the murders to a particularly devious, deadly and diabolical cult, lurking under the veneer of the Talmudic religion. Interestingly, Professor Toaff never mentions the cult hypothesis at all, attributing the crimes to Ashkenazi or German Jews as he calls them. This of course ignores cases involving oriental Jews, such as the Damascus double murder of 1840. As readers might already assume, he is not an Ashkenazi.

Bloody Passovers, as said, was withdrawn right before it was to have been released. A few hardbound copies apparently made it out, selling for as much as $500, if you can find one. However, both the Italian version and an English translation are available as Adobe pdf e-books. Email me and I will send either or both for free.

In the midst of collecting the many pages of notes and photocopies for the book, like many investigators, we became caught up in the process itself. We were not really thinking too much of the actual victims themselves, most of whom died hundreds of years ago. However the brutal child murder of little Simon somehow kept coming back to mind, sometimes annoyingly often. Then a stark reality dawned. These were real victims, not just names in old records. Most of them were children, entirely helpless to defend themselves against a gang of savage child-abusing killers. The realities of the blood, guts and gore, not to mention the appalling fear and terror felt by the victims, began to hit home. Little Simon became a focal point as we wrote the book. We shed tears and do not apologize for these feelings. We used them and acknowledged them as a way of “time travel” so we could touch the very real human emotions in a five-hundred-year-old case. These are not just ancient tales. They are real stories of real victims, their families and communities touched suddenly and violently by the dark talons of terror and evil. So think of the cases of child disappearance and murder today and the raw emotions that surface so easily -- now let’s step back five hundred years.

Simon Gerber, unfortunate Christian martyr, sacrificed by the Kabalistic Death Cult.

Trent (Trento in Italian) was no Eastern European backwater town full of ignorant kulaks that hated Jews. It was in 1475 already an old and beautiful northern Italian city of the scenic Tyrol region, experiencing the height of Renaissance art and culture. It had universities and a highly educated professional class. Its people were of typically northern Italian stock, with a good dose of Alpine and German in the mix. By the first half of the fourteenth century, German Jews were already settled in this Tyrolean town. In the fifteenth century, the Jews of Trent possessed a synagogue, a house of study and three other houses. They were well established as a part of the community. The local rules on usury (interest rates) served as a model for other cities of the region. Standards of literacy were high for the times. It was a Catholic city with many churches and devout religious people. Later in the 1500s it would host the famous Councils of Trent launching the Catholic Counter-Reformation against the encroachments of Protestantism. It was a clean, healthful prosperous city growing and expanding in trade, culture and the arts. Trent was a comfortable place to live the good life of Renaissance times.

The cultured citizens were shocked when a thirty month old boy, Simon, disappeared. Just as in child abduction cases today, the parents and citizenry went through a period of shock and disbelief as efforts to find the boy failed. Perhaps, they hoped, he had only been disobedient, and gone off somewhere to play with other children. As the time grew later and later, another kind of shock and terror took hold as they began to realize that any chance of finding the boy alive was fast fading away. The parents of little Simon must have felt awful. They were both away from home when the child went missing, perhaps attending Holy Week services. What terrible anguish and misgivings did these frightened parents feel? If you have ever loved a child, you can place yourself in this horrid dilemma.

It seems that Simon played outside after the family dinner, last seen sitting on the front steps of his home. Later testimony revealed that one Tobias Cohn, a Jewish resident of Trent, approached him. Tobias was no ordinary citizen. He was a doctor, a surgeon to be exact, skilled in the use of knives and blades. Tobias became friendly with the boy, eventually picking him up and bearing him away to the house of a co-conspirator, one Samuel. Simon was not seen alive again. This all happened on 21 March 1475 on a Thursday. To be precise, it was Maundy Thursday of Holy Week - and it was also Passover. The crime, occurring as it did during this high holy season, attracted much attention. Eventually the focus of public attention fell upon the Jews. They were seen with the lad, and the full story soon unfolded. In a curious development, the body was “discovered” by some of the Jews in the river. This may have been a tactical move by the cult to go ahead and let the body be found, hopefully directing attention away from them. Due to the arcane Kabalistic dogma, the cult never buried a victim, hence problems with body disposal. But, if the boy's body was found in the water, then he probably drowned accidentally as the not yet three-year-old could not swim. If believed, a funeral would be the end of it, or so they hoped. Poor Simon’s body was found in the Adige River (in German, the Etsch) that flowed not far from the house of the co-conspirator, Samuel. Nevertheless, the matter was not handled so easily. The boy’s naked body had curious and extraordinary wounds and incisions, and showed recent signs of circumcision! Further examination showed that the body was almost completely bloodless. It was soon clear that he had not drowned.

“Res Ipsa Loquitur” -- “The Thing Speaks For Itself”. We selected the story of Simon as it demonstrates this venerable legal definition. This horrific crime manifests almost every element of the M.O. and Criminal Profile laid out in Chapter Two and in the beginning of this chapter. [Blood Ritual, 23-29; 65-69.] We have a conspiracy of close associates who functioned well together. This was not a spontaneous crime or act of a single demented killer. This is the act of an organized cabal. They were single-minded, dedicated to accomplishing the murder at a particular time (Passover). A particular type of victim, a vulnerable Christian male child, was pre-selected. The boy is led away from his home by promises of sweets and entertainment. This sick pedophile M.O. has been around for a long time. The victim is perversely tortured and exsanguinated while yet conscious. He was desecrated and degraded according to the ritual M.O. This fits the profile of killers with deep psychosexual obsessions. Body disposal shows forethought and planning. Though some speculated that Simon drowned, a closer examination of the body showed marks and wounds characteristic of other ritual killings. The body was bloodless, and though found in water, had none of the other characteristics of death by drowning. A clear plan of plausible denial goes into full swing.

Charged along with Dr. Tobias Cohn were seven other conspirators: Samuel (whose home was the crime scene); two twin brothers named Saligman; Vitalis (or Veitel); Moses; Israel and Mayr. Because of the religious ritual circumstances of the killing, Bishop Hinderbach of the Diocese of Trent presided over the trial. A thorough investigation and interrogation ensued, albeit some of it under judicial torture. Soon the disgusting, sordid details of this unspeakable crime emerged. According to the confessions of his abusers, Simon suffered greatly at their hands. All the tortures, including the slow exsanguination, happened while the child was alive and aware! The old records, drawings and etchings contain the genuinely frightening and graphic details, which are truly repelling to most readers. We have chosen Sir Richard Burton’s case notes for this account, found in his famous 1898 book, The Jew, The Gypsy And El Islam. His scholarship and thoroughness are undisputed and exemplified in this selection.

“The Jews of Trent, by means of one of their number, a physician, decoyed to his house while the Christians were at church, it being Maundy Thursday, a boy two and a half years old, by name Simon, the son of a tanner. Before the Paschal festival commenced, the principal Jews collected in a room near their synagogue. The child, gagged with a kerchief, was extended in the form of a cross, and held down by his murderers. The blood, pouring from heavy gashes, was collected in a basin, and when death drew near the victim was placed upon his legs by the two men, and the others pierced his body with sharp instruments, all vying in brutality and enjoying the torture. The corpse having been found in the Etsch River [Adige in Italian.], which flows through the city, led to the detection of the crime; the murderers were put to death, the synagogue was razed to the ground, and a church was built over the place where the horrid deed was done. A sculpture was put on the Bridge Tower in Frankfort-on-the-Maine, and a picture of a Christian infant murdered by the Jews’ was placed in one of the galleries in the Hotel de Ville. Of late years it has been removed, in deference to the feelings of the Hebrew community, which of late years, has formed a large and important section of the commercial population. The murder has been abundantly commented upon. Dr. John Matthias Tiberinus, in Trent at the time, and Jacobus Philippus Bergamensis, of the Order of Hermits of St. Augustine, who was then living at the neighbouring town of Bergamo, gave accounts of it; whilst an engraving was produced in the Chronicles of John Louis Gottfried, edited by Matthaeus Merianus.”

The Trent Affair is plainly an example of a well-documented and proven ritual murder. It is one of the “multi-adjudicated” cases, that is, several kinds of courts and tribunals, including the Vatican, examined the evidence and concurred in the findings. The original trial, presided over by Bishop Hinderbach, ended with a death sentence. Jean de Salis de Brescia was the officer in charge of the inquiry. He brought in Jean de Feltro, a Jewish convert, who testified at length as to the reality of the charges. Another Jewish Christian convert, Wolfkan of Ratisbon, also testified to ritual blood magic.

Butler’s Lives Of The Saints (1971) contains an article on St. Simon that clearly expresses the position of our book. “There is little room for doubt that in each of these cases [referring to St. Andreas of Rinn, a 1462 child martyr] a child had been deliberately killed by somebody; and it is possible that such child murders may occasionally have been committed by Jewish maniacs, or as an act of private vengeance [revenge and hate crime motives], or by necromancers who wished to use the blood in some magical rite.”

The Jews of Trent went into shock. This cosmopolitan city had no record of pogroms or anti-Jewish violence. Jews had lived peacefully and profitably in Italy for centuries. But, the murder in Trent was essentially a proven case, and cannot be blamed on ignorance or naive anti-Jewish prejudices. Italy, particularly in Trent, had never really oppressed the Jews, lending even greater veracity to the case of Simon. The Trentine Jewish community, however, soon recovered from their initial shock, and began to resist the turn of events. Through bribery and pressure on the authorities, they gained a new trial. This tribunal sat in Ventimiglia, presided over by a respected jurist named Guidici. The verdict was the same. They confirmed the death sentences. But the rich, influential Jews of Trent did not stop there. Under howls of protest, the case came before Pope Sixtus IV. He appointed a respected canon lawyer, Father Panvino, to preside over a tribunal consisting of no less than six Cardinals. They, too, confirmed the sentences, saying:

“The Hebrews killed the little boy Simon in order to obey a rabbinical religious law; their motive to serve a most wicked piety and devotion by obtaining Christian blood....”

A Papal Bull entitled Facit Nos Pietas in 1478 fully accepted the truth of the verdicts. The verdict of the Papal Tribunal was the final legal segment, and the appeals went no further. The controversy did not subside, and the decision caused deep resentment among the Jews. In the final stages, Dr. Tobias committed suicide and four others converted to Catholicism and received pardons. Jews were henceforth excluded from Trent, and as late as the eighteenth century were not allowed to pass through the town. According to the Encyclopedia Judaica, the rabbis of Italy imposed a ban on Jewish settlement in Trent. This was formally lifted when Little Simon was decanonized in 1965.

Devout Catholics took little Simon’s cause to heart. The multi-adjudication of the case continued through the beatification and canonization processes. A cultus of devotion grew up around Simon, now known as a Christian Child Martyr. His tomb was in the Church of St. Peter. Among the relics of the child saint were items of forensic evidence such as the sacrificial knife and other torture implements recovered from the cultists. The people of Trent made prayers and devotions beseeching his intercession. The local diocese declared him Venerable, the first step in the sainthood process. He was later beatified as Blessed Simon of Trent. With Papal approval, masses and devotions were said in his name. By the time of the Renaissance, canonization was a well-established process in the Church. The necessary claims went thorough a complete and impassionate review.

In 1588 Pope Sixtus regularized the devotions to Simon, giving his full and unqualified approval. Later in February 1755, Pope Benedict XIV cited it in his work, On The Canonization of Saints, and issued the Bull, Beatus Andreas, which gave full sanction and approval to the sainthood of Simon as well as the earlier martyr, Andreas of Rinn. In the late 1500s, Pope Gregory XIII visited St. Simon’s Shrine during the famous counter-Reformation Councils of Trent. During that time, hundreds of Cardinals, Bishops and Priests must have visited all the churches of Trent, including St. Simon’s tomb. This was a rarely disputed case. The Holy Church always affirmed the truth of the matter.

That is, until 1965, when Saint Simon was gravely dishonored. In a stunning move, Archbishop Alessandro Gotardi of the Diocese of Trent, in a sacrificial gesture to the prelates of political correctness declared that the Jews were innocent. This culminated years of work and pressure from liberal historians, operating in the climate of “openness” created by the Vatican II Council, presided over by “the Ecumenical Pope," Paul VI. As a result of the decree of the Archbishop, the Vatican Congregation of Rites forbade the veneration of relics or the saying of masses in Simon’s name. This was an affront to the truth as well as a total depreciation of the five hundred years of prayer and devotion by devout Catholics to the little saint. Yet even in this climate of liberalism, it became clear that the Vatican had no intention of opening any more records into ritual murder cases. Perhaps the Jews and liberals were gratified with the Church’s pitiful kowtowing to political correctness as the controversy began to subside. Maybe the church viewed decanonization of too many saints at once as destabilizing. Nonetheless, the Ritual Murder Deniers celebrated a significant victory. One of the most famous and renowned cases of all was overturned and expunged.

And what, you may well ask, was the new evidence that cleared the conspirators in such an outrageous conclusion? Surprisingly there was no new evidence at all! The verdict was overturned because torture was used in the investigation -- no one actually disproved anything. The evidence was deemed inadmissible under standards not even thought of 500 years ago. Shouldn’t we absolve all the murderers of old on the same basis? It appears that no one explored this possibility, and they never will because it is absurd. Nonetheless the liberals won their victory. No more explaining was necessary. As for the victim and the cause of justice? They did not address these concerns in 1965. Superfluous to say, we are thoroughly disgusted by the actions of a clique of deceitful court historians with an obvious ax to grind.

We hope that some honest residents of Trent might build a new memorial to Little Simon, once deemed blessed, but this will probably never happen. We shall not wait and hold our breath, to be sure. Moreover, we do not have to wait at all. We can make our own memorial, right here, right now. This article is dedicated to historical truth and to the forgotten little murder victim, killed by a cult of pedophiles. If you are a religious person, please add your prayers.

The quotes below come from the book "Pasque Di Sangue" by Jewish Prof. Ariel Toaff, and were translated into English. You can see why Jewish censors wanted the book's publication stopped.

"Goi katan, 'small Christian,' was the expression used to introduce the victim (who was often anonymous) of the ritual murder, whose blood should have been added to the foods to show and to eat in the Seder dinners."

"'Zeh ha-dam shel goi katan.' This is the sentence used prior to the ritual murder; it means, 'This is the blood of a young Christian.'"

"You use to teach, beside giving them milk, the observance and the conception of the holy law and language, by Jewish names and uttering many things... And this is done so as for them to soon understand the law and the Bible. But alongside that, you spread the hatred toward the Goyim
(Gentiles), by which you mean Christians; you never give up the chance to curse them, or to let them be cursed by your children. Furthermore, the name by which you often use to call the [Christian] children is 'Shekatzim,' which means abominations. You also call idols by that word."

"'Tonghavà' also means 'abomination.' You often warn your children to stay away from Tonghavà (Christian churches), not to speak with Sheketz and other similar bad things.

This is a quotation in the book by Giulio Morosini, it is written in old Italian:

"'Shekez' meant 'something which was an abomination,' while its female form 'sheksa' or 'shekse' [Shiksa] was a neologism, which indicated the young Christian girls who had affairs with young Jews."

"Until recently, among Ashkenazi Jews in Venice, 'scigazzello' was in use as a despicable word. The word 'shekez,' 'shegez' or 'shegesc' was meant to point in a spiteful way at the young Christians, referred to as 'abominative expressions of what was created.' The term was very used in almost every city where German-Jewish communities had formed, even in Northern Italy. This word is not quoted in the protocols of the trials of Trento, where the word 'goy' ('people', 'nation') is used to generally refer to Christians, and 'goy katan' ('little Christian'), meaning small boy of the Christian religion."

Several books deal with the case, but Frankel features interesting and indicative facts, perhaps to his dismay since this is supposed to be a grand refutation. How exited can we get about a book that begins with a false premise? The first page, before the title page, says, “this is the first book since the 1840s to analyze the case”, ignoring several here in our list.

Tlass holds a doctorate in geopolitical studies from the Sorbonne, and retired after a long stint as Syrian Minister of Defense. DOES EVIDENCE OBTAINED FROM TORTURE NEGATE THE TRUTH OF A CRIME? Virginia and others declared this basic misunderstanding. An “Established Point of Law”-- Or Not?

A crucial Legal Principle and question awaits you, our readers (that is, our co-investigators and ultimate jurors) : Does the use of torture or the threat of torture completely, automatically, in every instance, discredit any and all evidence collected in a criminal case through such confessions,? What about later-proven facts that result from torture or threat thereof? What about facts that would have surfaced later anyway? These are important questions, for if you answered “yes” to the initial question, then you will want to dismiss the charges, bring down the gavel, and close the book. But if you have a more open mind, then please read on.

PLEASE NOTE: The Timeline Of Cases And Events contains plenty of evidence untainted by torture. The fact of torture is used, however, as “legal grounds” for dismissal and disbelief by “sensible historians” to dismiss any and all ritual murder cases and allegations, especially those in the Middle Ages.

How The Cases Of Old Were Investigated

Each case often involved the murder of a child or young woman or around the Jewish high holidays of Purim and Passover. Often the bodies of the kidnapped and tortured victims displayed curious wounds, cuts and incisions leading the observers to suspect ritual abuse. The bodies were most often virtually devoid of blood, yet no blood evidence was at or near the location of the body. These were comparatively primitive times in the areas of police investigations and forensics. There would be no trained professional police until the 1830s. Modern autopsies were virtually unknown, regarded as a ghoulish, forbidden act. There was little or no refrigeration, so bodies began quick decomposition, making prompt and complete disposal a priority. Any examination of the corpses had to happen relatively quickly. Learned people of the day most usually comprised the official court of inquiry. These persons included physicians, lawyers, judges, civil officials, university faculty and others. Like every court then and since, murder is one of the main crimes appearing on their docket. While we rarely question their decisions in more mundane murder crimes, today’s “politically correct” court historians advocate total disbelief when it comes to Jewish ritual accusations. These jurists of old were not fools, and often wrote long, detailed reports of the proceedings, many of which are extant today.

Understanding The Legal Systems Of Past Times

We must look frankly and honestly at these legal systems of older times to understand their methods and results. Let’s get something on the table right now. Torture or the threat thereof occurred in many investigations. Though heinous it was standard operating procedure in many parts of the world until the nineteenth century. Torture has made a “comeback” in the late twentieth century. Accusations abound all over the world. This factor weighed quite heavily by The Ritual Murder Deniers, and is often their main (sometimes only) rationalization for absolving the accused without looking further. The legal systems of ancient, Medieval and pre-modern times knew little or nothing of juries, rules of evidence and disclosure, reasonable suspicion and probable cause, reasonable doubt or any other component of modern judicial due process. Once accused, defendants were usually convicted. This is still true in nations whose legal systems based on Napoleonic Code. In these countries the conviction rate of those arrested is considerably higher than in the United States. The reason for this is not that cops and courts are more efficient, but that they operate under different standards of probable cause. The police investigate cases to the point where they feel there is little doubt about the guilt of the suspect. In another difference with our legal system, courts and prosecutors take over the investigation at this point. In the Timeline we see that courts and other legal tribunals were the main investigative arm. Under the Napoleonic Code, once a suspect is apprehended, he is presumed guilty. It is the responsibility of the accused to prove his innocence. In our system, of course, the burden of proof is on the prosecution, but our standards for reasonable suspicion and probable cause are less demanding. There are, of course, exceptions where risk of flight or further criminal activity speeds up the arrest.

To understand the cases we will review, it is crucial to understand the legal and cultural contexts of past times. Our gift is to look back with twenty-first century eyes and twenty-first century knowledge, but we must also try to see through the eyes of these long-dead folk. We must put ourselves into each character and role and try to think as they thought. We know this sounds a bit like “psychic” investigating, but it is quite a useful tool in gaining insight and intuition. It is this clarity of vision that allows us to take a new look at an old case and come out on the other side of the process with new insights and understandings. This is why we emphasize, in the language of the historians, “grasping the zeitgeist," the “spirit of the age.”

So often all we hear about the courts of old is that they tortured suspects and then executed them brutally and quickly. While outwardly true, such a view precludes an honest view of the system, hence deterring a fair conclusion. These were cruel and brutal times. Yet ancient and medieval courts were often able to focus quickly on the real perpetrators of more mundane crimes, find the truth, and punish the offenders. The courts, though brutal and unfair in our “modern” view, still managed to function effectively much of the time. This is evident from an examination of the court records in more ordinary, less lurid cases. Virtually no one seeks to absolve the more common murderers of yesteryear, but some jump at any excuse to absolve and whitewash the accused ritual murderers.

A Look At Judicial Torture

We are not advocates of torture as an investigative tool! The idea of torture is hideous, repugnant and alien to our constitutional system -- but it was a factor in the cases we will examine, and therefore deserves a closer look. This is a subject rife with misunderstanding and misinterpretation. While the cruel acts themselves receive considerable attention in literature and the cinema, there is practically no understanding of the reasons for, and uses of torture. While hideously barbarous, it was not merely the actions of a sadistic society.

It is worthy of note that the Christian Church opposed the use of torture, and the courts seldom used it routinely until medieval times.

“The Christian Church ... condemned the use of torture in law courts. ... In 384, a synod in Rome denounced the use of torture in civil courts. In the 6th century, Pope Gregory I ordered judges not to accept any statement made under torture. As a result, torture as a legal device to obtain information or a confession virtually disappeared in Europe for nearly a thousand years.” Daniel Mannis, The History Of Torture.

The Church revived the practice only in face of an assault on Catholic orthodoxy by the wild spread of heresies in the 1300s. Therefore, the confessions obtained in Christian pre-Medieval times cannot be discounted or refuted on the basis of torture.

No doubt the best-known example of judicial torture is the Spanish Inquisition, though the Inquisition, as a legal entity, never tortured or executed anyone; this was done by civil authorities. These Catholic functionaries honed their torture skills to the maximum. First they worked to progressively break the will of the suspect. The skilled Inquisitors made sure that death only rarely intervened. They inevitably broke the will and resistance of the subject. Judicial torture had strict guidelines as to instruments used and the time applied to the subject. After that, the more detailed interrogation began after this initial loosening of the tongue. In rare instances when torture of the accused failed to do the job, sometimes the entire family was arrested. In these cases, the threat of torture often had the desired effect. Family members were fair game as they were naturally suspect as complicit in the crime and or cover-up. One way or another, the Inquisitors got the desired results.

Some readers are already saying, “But wait! People will confess to anything under torture, so this is not valid evidence.” Yes, this is true -- to a degree. A torture subject will indeed say most anything and everything he thinks the torturers want to hear. So the Inquisitors end up with a big mixed bag of statements, including lies, exaggerations -- and even the truth. So how did they go about sorting through all of this? One method is to compare the interrogation data with known facts about the crime. This is especially effective where the authorities have information only known by them and the perpetrators. In The Damascus Affair of 1840, Ottoman judicial torture was an element. The interrogation revealed the location of the bodies, previously unknown. Yes, that crucial piece of evidence came through torture, but it was also the truth.

These old Inquisitors, though cruel and ruthless, were no fools. They were skilled at their tortuous arts, and had sense enough to know they must have other ways as well to corroborate information and isolate the truth. Once the accused initially broke and confessed, the torture ended and he returned to his cell. After a recovery period, they returned the accused back to the torture chamber for another session to determine if he told the truth, and the whole truth, in his previous confession! The Benedictine, Dominican and Franciscan Inquisitors very seriously took their spiritual duty to have the accused confess and save his immortal soul. They did not regard death as a failure if they got the information they needed. The second session would not cease until they had thoroughly extracted every small detail. Yes, torture victims will say anything to stop the pain and suffering, but in the process they will reveal the truth if it is present. That we should exclude the whole body of evidence because of unsavory methods is preposterous. We absolutely DO NOT advocate torture as an investigative tool; that is unthinkable. Yet as investigators we must sift through all the available evidence at our disposal, albeit it ugly and horrendous, to determine the facts.

The above is the link to a review about a new Polish film which a Polish friend tells me deals with the massacre by the Soviet Union of the Polish officer corps -- a crime which for years was blamed on the Germans.

It seems that this film is so good it is up for some kind of a film industry prize, even an Oscar.

I doubt if any such film will be granted high accolades. The people who run the movie business may not be too keen on allowing a prize to go to a film which places the blame for a notorious war crime on the Communists rather than the Nazis!

And as it happens, the Zionists have just commenced a propaganda initiative in Poland designed to make the Poles feel co-responsible with the German Nazis for "the Holocaust".

Recently Jan Thomasz Gross, a Polish Jew who left Poland in 1968 to become a U.S. citizen and a history professor at Princeton University, has returned to the land of his birth to promote his latest book "Fear: Anti-Semitism in Poland after Auschwitz".

His technique for securing publicity for his book has been to stage provocative public meetings in Polish cities at which he accuses the Polish people in general and the Polish Catholic Church in particular, of responsibility for massacres of Jews during and after the German occupation.

These meetings caused uproar for, as Time magazine of 23rd January 2008 [ http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1706315,00.html ] reported: "......Poland, which lost about 6 million of its citizens in the war -- half of them Jewish -- prides itself on being the only country in Nazi-occupied Europe that did not have a collaborator government."

This kind of vilification of the Polish people by Zionist propagandists has been part of Israeli school curriculum for decades past and it has clearly inculcated among Israelis a hatred for Poland and its people.

For the past several years coach-loads of Israeli teenagers on "Holocaust" tours to Auschwitz are taking over (and trashing) hotels in and near Crakow. Some hotels have refused to take any more Israeli guests after fixtures and fitting were damaged and excrement found in waste-paper baskets and wash basins.

The kosher louts and loutesses are hermetically-sealed from the Polish population by squads of armed Mossad goons who menace and even assault any Poles who try to make the slightest social contact with the little darlings.

The coaches in which they are transported are parked in complete disregard of local parking regulations. Their engines are kept revving all night in residential districts "in the interests of "security".

The illegal activities of these tour groups -- not least the unauthorised firearms possessed by the Mossad minders -- and the complaints of local citizens and traders, are routinely ignored by municipal and national Polish authorities who are fearful of shrill accusations of "anti-semitism".

Such are the fruits of "Holocaust Education Programmes".

I have on file a long report published in a Polish magazine last year recounting the appalling conduct of these teenage Israeli tourists. If anybody would like a copy, they have only to request the same.

Psychology Professor Kevin MacDonald is facing
condemnation from his colleagues for his anti-Semitic research,
according to the California State University, Long Beach (CSU-LB),
student newspaper, The Daily 49er. This academic year, MacDonald was
removed from certain undergraduate courses that had long been taught by
him. University sources told Hatewatch in July that large numbers of
complaints about MacDonald’s anti-Semitism and racism, which followed
the April 2007 publication of the Intelligence Report’s exposé,
“Promoting Hate,” spurred the change.

In December, MacDonald held a closed forum to defend his work before the
psychology department’s faculty. He was pressed there to explain his
research methodology, his ethics and his controversial theories alleging
that Jews are genetically compelled to undermine Western societies (for
more on MacDonald’s anti-Semitic research, see here and here). He was
also asked to explain his many connections to white supremacists. Since
the turn of the millennium, MacDonald has held leadership positions in
several white supremacist groups, and in 2004 he was honored with a
$10,000 prize for his work on the Jews by The Occidental Quarterly, a
white supremacist publication where he currently serves on the editorial
advisory board.

Today in the mail I received a nice letter from Germar, dated January 13, 2008. He appears to be in a very good mood, and we shall soon see why.

Germar begins: "As to my health, everything is now back to normal working order. My toe has healed perfectly, my Achilles tendon is back to normal, and the other minor issues are gone as well. Holocaust revisionist historian Robert Faurisson will apparently stand trial in his native France for statements that he made at the Iran Holocaust conference of December 2006, which cast doubt on the so-called Jewish Holocaust. As you may know, the Gayssot Act of 1990 prohibits and punishes any public doubt about the Holocaust.

The former Prime Minister of France, Dominique de Villepin, was quoted as saying that "We [the French people] are in a democracy. Everyone has the right to express his views freely, while respecting others, of course." This government prosecution of Dr. Faurisson is clearly a violation of his inalienable right to freedom of speech.

Dr. Faurisson is an outstanding and brave scholar that deserves your support. We ask that all American citizens call and write the French embassy in Washington, D.C., protesting this overt violation of Dr. Faurisson's human rights. The address is: Embassy of France in the United States

PARIS — French far-right leader Jean-Marie Le Pen was handed
a three-month suspended jail sentence on Friday for describing
the Nazi occupation of France as "not especially inhumane".

JEAN-MARIE Le PEN : Former French paratrooper is sentenced
for disclosing truth about German occupation of wartime France.

Le Pen, 79, was found guilty of denying a crime against humanity
and complicity in condoning war crimes, over the remarks made
in an interview with a far-right magazine in 2005. The veteran National Front (FN) chief was also fined 10,000 euros (14,500 dollars) for his remarks. Le Pen was not in court to hear
the verdict but his lawyer said there was a "100-percent chance" his client would appeal.

Le Pen told Rivarol magazine that "in France at least the German
occupation was not especially inhumane, even if there were a
number of excesses — inevitable in a country of 550,000 square
kilometers."

"If the Germans had carried out mass executions across the
country as the received wisdom would have it, then there
wouldn't have been any need for concentration camps for

political deportees."

'Tried to sow doubt'

The court ruled that Le Pen "tried to sow doubt over what may
have been committed by the Nazis on French territory, such as
the deportation of the Jews or the persecution of Resistance
members, both crimes against humanity."

Rivarol journalist Jerome Bourbon and the magazine's editor
Marie-Luce Wacquez were also respectively fined 2,000 and
5,000 euros.

Le Pen also partially exonerated the German army over a 1944
massacre of 86 people in the town of Villeneuve d'Ascq, saying
it was the work of a lieutenant "mad with rage" over the death
of comrades in a resistance attack, and that it was the Gestapo
who intervened to stop the killings.

For this the court found him guilty of "deliberate historical
falsification" and of giving "a positive image of the Gestapo"
by glossing over the crimes it committed.

Le Pen's version was disputed during the trial by the mayor
of Villeneuve d'Ascq and by prosecutor Anne de Fontette, who
said it was like calling the Gestapo "the blue berets of the 1940s."

"This is a very heavy conviction, extremely rare in terms of
media law," said the head of the MRAP anti-racism association,
Richard Sebban, saying it was appropriate to Le Pen's "deeply
serious falsification."

'Impossible case to defend'

But Le Pen's lawyer Wallerand de Saint-Just contested the
verdict, saying: "The court is accusing my client of failing to
speak of certain events — it's an impossible case to defend."

The far-right leader said in 2005 he felt "absolutely no guilt"
over his remarks, and claimed he was a victim of "persecution"
after he was unanimously condemned by French politicians and
campaign groups.

Historical debate has raged over the degree of French
acceptance of the 1940-1944 occupation, which for most of
the time was relatively peaceful compared to the experiences
of countries in eastern Europe.

Le Pen, who founded the FN in 1972, has been convicted of
racism or anti-Semitism on previous occasions. In 1987 he
described the Nazi gas chambers as a "detail of history."

In 2002 he shocked Europe by making it through to the second
round of France's presidential election.

BARCELONA — The legal guardians of Anne Frank's memory have
stepped in at the 11th hour to try to stop a controversial Spanish
musical about the life of one of the Holocaust®'s best-known victims
going ahead.

Rafael Alvero, producer of "The Diary of Anne Frank: A Song to Life,"
which is in rehearsal for its opening in Madrid, claims he spent 10
years obtaining approval for the first song-and-dance version of
the teenage diarist's story. But the Swiss-based Anne Frank Fund,
headed by the only living member of the family, Bernard "Buddy" Elias,
is demanding a halt to the show.

Christopher Knoch, a member of the fund's board, said: "The Anne
Frank Fund has granted no rights for the musical by Rafael Alvero.
On the contrary, we have requested him to desist from such a
production." The fund could take legal action to stop the musical's
premiere on 28 February.

Mr. Alvero appears to have fallen foul of a long-running battle over
Anne Frank's legacy. The fund holds the copyright to Anne Frank's
"The Diary of a Young Girl,"* which has sold more than 30 million
copies in 60 languages.

It's about the money

It also controls the rights to film and theatrical productions and
guards them jealously: even Steven Spielberg was turned down when
he wanted to make a film about the diarist, who hid in an Amsterdam
house with her family and four other Jews during the Second World
War. In 1944 they were betrayed to the Nazis and sent to the death
camps.** Only Otto Frank, Anne's father, survived.

Otto Frank set up two bodies to perpetuate his daughter's memory.
In Amsterdam the family's hiding place was turned into a museum,
run by the Anne Frank Foundation, which also undertakes worldwide
education projects on the Holocaust.

But the money from her book and all adaptations of it goes to the
fund in Switzerland, where Otto Frank ended his days. This has
caused tension in the past with the Amsterdam-based body, which
complained that it was chronically short of funds.

A decade ago, the two organizations faced each other in a Swiss
court. The fund claimed that the foundation was trespassing on its
territory by copyrighting the name of Anne Frank around the world.
The museum said this was necessary to stop its educational materials
being plagiarized, but the Swiss body said Anne Frank's name could
end up on souvenir pencils and T-shirts. The court decided in favor
of the foundation, however.

Museum visit inspires musical idea

Mr. Alvero said he first had the idea of presenting Anne Frank's
story as a musical when he visited the Anne Frank Museum with his
13-year-old son, David. He spent the next decade convincing the
foundation, as well as potential backers, that such a production
would be tasteful.

"I took my time to persuade the foundation, which has now seen that
it is a responsible work," he said in an interview earlier this year.
"We managed to convince Anne's only living relative, her cousin, Buddy
Elias." He declined to comment after the broadside from Mr Elias's Anne
Frank Fund, referring questions to the Anne Frank Foundation.

Jan Erik Dubbelman, of the Anne Frank Foundation in Amsterdam, said:
"This production respects the message of tolerance within the tragedy
that we want to keep alive."

The strong feelings aroused by the teenager's testament were
emphasized last month when a chestnut tree she mentions in her diary
was saved after a legal wrangle in Amsterdam. The tree, which she
could glimpse from her hiding place, was due to be cut down, but will
be propped up with steel beams at a cost of £35,000 ($52,500).
